Hi and welcome to my first blog post.

I started painting a few years ago when I retired to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in West Wales. I live on a smallholding in the Preseli Mountains close to a wild and beautiful coastline. It is this magnificent and remote location that inspires me to paint. The land and seascapes I choose are either spectacular and dramatic or serene and tranquil

This painting, "Castle Martin Cliffs" is a majestic stretch of cliffs in Pembrokeshire  where I used to climb, the rocks create an ever changing display of radiant colours  under differing light conditions. I  used pastel because of it’s extraordinarily expressive, luminescent and adaptive qualities.
